Seasons is a number of shorts, one- and two-shots that deal with a variety of “Story A” scenarios, and a few stories of couples dealing with a crisis in their relationship.

Otome no Minato / 乙女の港 (JP)

Michiko is a first-year middle-school student in Catholic school in Yokohama, a large port town. She develops an ‘S’ relationship with a second-year high school student, Youko. Youko has a troubled past that makes her the target for some unkindness from the other girls, but is herself a beautiful, smart and accomplished young woman. She and Michiko become close over spring, into summer, in slow, relaxing days walking the harbor town or spending time together on Youko’s father’s farm. Yaneura no Nishojo / 屋根裏の二処女 (JP)

In Yoshiya Nobuko’s historic novel, Akiko enters the Young Women’s Association school as a naive somewhat timid young lady. Her time in the attic room with Akitsu changes her forever. This book established tropes used in Yuri for decades to come.

Honey & Honey / ハニー&ハニー (JP)

This book was designed to explain lesbian and sexual minority life to straight women, with gentle humor. Everything from “how did you know you were lesbian?” to breaking up, from debunking “all lesbians were abused by men” to dating basics. Sachiko (neko) and her girlfriend Masako (tachi) go out together to buy underwear and have dinner and face confusion, derision and misunderstandings from friends and family, as well as find support, love and community.

Yuri no Real / 百合のリアル (JP)

Makimura Asako is a former Miss Japan finalist who is an out lesbian. She is married to a women from France and works as entertainer (a “talent”.) To answer a lot of questions she gets about being gay and about LGBTQ people, life and sex, she has written a book called Yuri no Real (百合のレアル), or, as we might say it, “Real Yuri.”

Moriko is facinated by the foreign student in class, Becky. Becky’s smart, attractive…she’s shiny. And when she really gets a good long look at Moriko, she sees a strong resemblance to a character she really likes in a series of h-games.

This is a Japanese-language book.

Lesbian-teki Kekkon Seikatsu / レズビアン的結婚生活 (JP)

In spring 2013, Higashi Koyuki and Masahara Hiroko made waves all around the world with the first ever same-sex wedding ceremony at Tokyo Disneyland Resort (TDR). The two are both activists and writers, and their story was widely shared around the Internet and in print publications.

Lesbian-teki Kekkon Seikatsu (レズビアン的結婚生活 ) is the manga retelling of their story.
